Hey Y’all!
A couple weeks ago, my husband and I got to travel down to Fort Worth and Tyler, Tx. We stayed downtown and got to go to some amazing steak restaurants including Cattlemen’s and the Reata, check out the Galleria Mall in Dallas, take in some team roping at the Will Rogers Coliseum, go to Billy Bob’s and do some dancing, and get treated like royalty at Embassy Suites. I highly recommend staying there – they had a new gym, a Starbucks, and made breakfast to order. After a couple nights in Ft. Worth we traveled to Tyler to visit family on my birthday.
My Grandma Martha who is a very special lady left a gift for me at my Dads. She gave me a gold bracelet with tiny engraving on it of a flower paisley design. The bracelet was given to my Great Grandma Cheek by my Great Grandfather as an engagement gift. It is stunning! I love mixing metals and this bracelet is something that I will cherish forever. We figured that it had to be at least 75 years old. My Grandma Martha is someone that I LOVED to spend time with. Before she moved to Oklahoma, she resided in Cornelia, Georgia which is very rural and in the mountains. She barrel raced, worked a chicken farm, trained dogs, was a photographer, and had a multitude of different animals. She even had a rooster that played the piano named Rocky. Obviously, that is where my love of animals came from (I got it honestly!).
Later on that day we drove to Lindale and checked out Miranda Lambert’s Pink Pistol general store. I LOVE Miranda. She is the epitome of a strong, entrepreneurial country girl who doesn’t take any crap. I think that is why so many women can identify with her. The store was covered in pink and glitz! She has everything from shirts and shoes to jewelry and wine. She even has a tiny area to do wine tastings from her Red 55 Wines she has created. The staff is very friendly and said that she comes back once a month to check in on the store. I definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
