Saint Simons Island

Hey Y’all!

Can you believe summer is almost here! This is my favorite part of the year. The days are longer, the sun is bright, it’s getting warm, and I get to celebrate my husband and I’s two year anniversary. We decided to head down to my home state of Georgia for the week and had a little mini vacation at St. Simon’s Island. I have been visiting the island for the last eight years and love it. It is small and quaint and so very shabby chic cool. It is a great place to go fishing, golfing, and relaxing. I am going to list some of my favorite restaurants and shops that I enjoy hitting up.

Catch 228 – In the Redfern Village. AMAZING seafood. I love their crab cakes.  IMG_9178 228

Palmers Village Café – this is a great breakfast spot. Anything you order is so good and fast, friendly service.

Mudcat Charlies (this is in Brunswick, Ga.)- best french-fries, hushpuppies, and fried grouper. This is a family favorite dining spot. It’s the place where everyone knows your name.

Coastal Kitchen – at the marina, this place is a little more upscale and trendy. Their fried green tomatoes and mahi-mahi are the bomb. They have unique cocktails as well. This is where we had our first dinner of the week.

The Dutchman –  first thing you will notice about this store, is the aroma. It smells like heaven in here. They have beautiful furniture and décor. I have a rustic sign in our lake home (sun room) that is from this place.

Hope’s – I love this store. Cute, affordable clothing with new arrivals daily. You can checkout shophopes.com if you are unable to reach the SSI or Jesup, Ga location. I grabbed a skirt, top, and necklace while I was in there. You can also get a 10% discount by using the coupon code thollisrep.

If you are looking for some exciting night life – I highly recommend Ziggy Mahoney’s or Gnat’s Landing. Both offer live music and dancing! Aaron and I got to watch the SSI Shag Club and checkout some awesome dancing. We took ballroom for 2 years and really enjoyed it.

We finished up our trip by heading back to Athens (my hometown) and meeting friends at the Terrapin Brewery. They offer live music at a huge outdoor venue that is kid friendly and you can bring your pups. It was a great week and I am already looking forward to getting back home. No matter where you are from, going home makes you feel so good inside and proud to be who you are. I am excited to share more posts with y’all about my upcoming adventures. Stay tuned lovelies!
