The Chi Town Shakedown & Big Revival Tour

Hey y’all!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit with my sweet friends (and gracious hosts) Jamie and Ari in Chicago, IL. We had a 4 ½ hour drive from our home in Ohio which was a breeze (although I am scared to death to drive in the city!). I have been to Chicago a couple of times, but always stuck after a cancelled flight or for an early morning flight, so I never really ventured out alone. Let me start of by saying that Chicago is absolutely beautiful. I loved all of the old architectural buildings, statues, restaurants, and shopping. It is the BEST having friends as your unconventional tour guides because you get the inside scoop on all of the coolest places to visit. On Friday night we had a Jeunesse Global mixer and from there we went to the Boarding House for late dinner, Drumbar, and also an impromptu late night dance party at a fun 90’s bar. On Saturday we went sight seeing and walking down Michigan Avenue. We topped off our afternoon at Nomi before heading off to see the Big Revival Tour which featured Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Brantley Gilbert, Chase Rice, and Old Dominion. Everyone knows how much I adore Miranda and she looked AMAZING and put on an awesome show. Kenny always brings the most energy and outstanding performance. I highly suggest getting Sand Bar tickets if you are able to afford them. We were so close and had the best views. We had the best time with our friends and it was a wonderful trip. Chicago has so much to offer, see, and do and I cant wait to get back again to visit!

Here is a little info on the places we went~

The Boarding House – we grabbed some pizza here (it was so delicious). The ambiance and décor of this place is so cool. There are 9000 wine glasses (they clean them four times a year) that hang from the ceiling downstairs and upstairs there is more seating with a view of 6000 wine bottles hanging from the ceiling.

Drumbar – at Raffaello hotel. This place is so old school cool and set up like a classic speakeasy with a dj, specialty cocktails and a rooftop bar.

Sweetwater Grill – great lunch and outdoor seating area. Great place to watch any sporting events. I had the Ahi Tuna wrap and it was delicious.

Nomi – at Park Hyatt Chicago – beautiful outdoor rooftop restaurant – and of course we had to split a chocolate flan hereIMG_9526

Millenium Park– “the bean” sculpture, fountains, and other gorgeous monuments
