Hey Y’all!
So I have taken a little impromptu break since my last post earlier this summer due to family/friends visiting, traveling A LOT, and other very exciting adventures I have been working on. Bear with me, this post is going to be a myriad of things!
This past month, we have been to Nashville twice and gotten to experience a cool new place. My aunt and uncle reside in Franklin and we met up with them for lunch at the Homestead Manor. Its an old antebellum mansion and the land dates back to the Revolutionary War. I was definitely having my Gone With the Wind moment (GASP! My husband has not seen my favorite movie of all time – yet- but this winter he will be;) The delicious food is local farm to table. The employees were kind enough to let me go have my Scarlett O’Hara moment on the porch and by the carriage. The barn, where weddings are held, is gorgeous. Next, we drove to Leiper’s Fork and had joined in on some porch parties (as we say in the south) and listened to some bluegrass pickin’. Those are some of my favorite things about the south – the food, history, and live music wherever you go, which I believe wholeheartedly makes you want to hang out and drink some sweet tea and shop.
There has been some movement in my relationship with the Lord especially by reading and reflecting on Lysa Terkeurst’s book – “When Women Say Yes to God.” I will preface this by saying I first listened to Lysa at a NewSpring sermon online and her testimony brought me to tears. Her book has helped me to examine on changing some of my ways and literally saying “yes” to God. It is awesome to see God at work in my life, my marriage, and how I strive to treat others. I am guilty of sometimes becoming so wrapped up and “busy” that it is hard to settle down and devote time to the most important relationship of all – with Jesus. My normal routine consists of reading one Christian based book a month, doing the First5 devotions everyday (I HIGHLY recommend!), and reading my Bible. I know God is working on me to become a better servant and witness to everyone I encounter and it makes my heart happy to know I am changing and growing.
Last but not least, I have been working on something so exciting, that is faith focused and I’m very passionate about. I cannot wait to see how God uses me and my venture to help others. I will be making an announcement very soon! Stay tuned!
Love it
