Hey Y’all!
With spring and summer quickly approaching, Soul Revival has been hard at work with shows, sales, spring orders, and new arrivals. So far we have been able to give back to our Nicaragua Missions team with Church of the Nations (Athens GA), the Willard Food bank, & to our Haiti Missions team through Community Bible Church (Mansfield, Ohio). See our blog post here for more info on SR look here (www.theglitzyhorseshoe.com/2015/10/).
We just wrapped up a show in Sandusky, Ohio at Kalahari. I love being on the road, meeting new people, and sharing our story to others. It’s been such a blessing and awesome way to share Christ with people.
Our display was so beautiful and a huge thank you to my dear family and friends helping us set up and work the booth! It’s definitely a family affair and labor of love. This was the fourth show that I’ve done and I wanted to share some tidbits on things that have helped me with preparation and success.
1. Display, Display, Display
Be eye catching and unique. You want to draw customers in for whatever product you’re selling. Make it warm and inviting. Placement of items is key also!
2. List
Make a list of things you will need before the show and check it thoroughly before leaving your home.
Money/change, chargers, iPads, drill, markers, price tags, snacks/water bottle (and make sure your wireless items are charged bf the show), flashlight, hand sanitizer
-for outdoor shows – tents, stakes or weights if needed, big tarps (in case of high winds or rain possibility), bungee cords
3. Be an early bird
Arrive an hour before show time. It helps you figure out where things should go last minute or switching up your display, organizing items, and feeling prepared.
4. Catch your Zzzz’s
Get plenty of rest beforehand! Our last show was 11 hour days and to say we were exhausted, was an understatement. I also get really excited the night before, so try to relax and unwind a couple days beforehand.
5. Pray!
This is my go to for any successful show. I just pray that God uses me to talk about Him and His love to others. No matter if the show is big or small, there’s always positivity that comes out of meeting new people and sharing the gospel.
I hope these tips help you with future shows and please comment below any tips that you use and would like to share! Happy Show Season!
