New Years Tablescape

I’ve celebrated many New Years, some in gowns, others in pajamas and this year we are headed to Atlanta to watch the Dawgs take on OSU. House Divided, y’all pray for me! Haha

Even though we won’t be home, I love changing up my dining room table for a fun New Years celebration. We will be home on New Years Day and of course we plan on eating our Black Eyed Peas and Collard Greens! It’s southern tradition that the Black Eyed Peas will bring you good luck (or some say coins) and the Collards bring you money. We will be adding cornbread (for luck) and pork (pigs root FORWARD) with a little sauerkraut (Aaron’s northern take on our southern tradition). Another unspoken rule I follow is – whatever you do on New Years may be what you do most of the year! So, say “NO” to laundry! Haha

Ok, back to my dining room. I used most of the mercury glass and vintage style ornaments from Christmas and added some large and medium size disco balls to the table. I mixed gold and black tapered candles and added a variation of antique brass candle holders.

For the dinnerware setting, I used sunburst gold chargers (I found similar ones here: https://www.shopltk.com/explore/brookebcarmean/posts/ccaabc48-87a6-11ed-aabd-0242ac110004 large square dinner plates, small black plates, and the prettiest crystal napkin rings with ivory linens. Across my sideboard I draped a Happy New Year glittery banner.

New Years is all about the golds, blacks, silvers, glimmers, and glitters! Even my boys loved this look. Cash thinks we should leave the disco ball out year round! We all loved the mirrored reflections splashing across the walls. Do you plan to stay in or go out? Do you have any traditions that you follow? I pray that you all have a very Happy and blessed New Year!
