Hey y’all!
Whew, can you believe it’s SPRING BREAK time?!! I wanted to share with y’all our quick trip to Wilderness of the Smokies in Sevierville, TN. We stayed two nights and the kids had a great time. I want to give a run down with details so you know before booking!
Pros: the room was spacious and clean (great for our family of four), the hotel was clean and smoke free, they had live music in the dining hall on the weekend, separate age appropriate play space for little kids and older kids at the water park, lots of lifeguards on duty, the water slides are fun, the food was good, the arcade was a lot of fun (it is also expensive). There is also is a suspended obstacle course and small bowling alley in the arcade.
Cons: not a ton of seating at the water park (I recommend getting there for a seat by 9-9:30 during peak / holiday season), the food and drinks are expensive, quiet hours are 11pm-6am and we had a herd of elephants above us, the wave pool is ROUGH – like I’m talking yellow flags at the beach rough – Cash is a great swimmer and I made him wear a life jacket – while Ace and I didn’t go past his chest level, the wave pool closed twice in one day due to someone defecating in it, and they REALLY push timeshares.
For two nights for a family of four we roughly spent $2000. That included the hotel stay, water park entrance, meals, drinks, two stuffed animals, and arcade card credits. Overall, the boys had a wonderful time and lots of fun. It may be something we do again, but not on a spring break or holiday weekend.
