September is here and that means college football is back! There is NOTHING like football in the south. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the outfits – the SEC is hard to beat. I may reside in Tennessee now, but Athens, Georgia will always be my hometown and have my heart. Some of my favorite memories growing up included going to games with family and friends and of course, the tailgates!
I wasn’t ready to bring the pumpkins out, so this was a fun alternative to do. I cannot begin to tell y’all how much JOY this has brought me seeing pops of red, black, and white! I wanted to create a cozy and fun atmosphere to watch games, eat yummy southern food, and to cheer on the Dawgs.
Most of the items I used were things I already had on hand. Large trophies, pom poms, vintage Coke crates and cooler, concrete UGA statue, candlesticks, and footballs.
I did purchase a fun Georgia theme garland found here: https://liketk.it/4hXnR
And I added a large black and white patch cowhide rug found here: https://liketk.it/4hXpz
I painted a smaller bulldog statue to match our mascot here: https://liketk.it/4hXnR
Last but not least, I added some vintage style pillows that my mom and I made. Being a mom to two boys, I loved getting to bring out our fan favorites and create a sporty space!
Let me know what team you’re rooting for and as always – GO DAWGS, SIC ‘EM!!!
Gotta love the vintage GameDay pillows!!! 🙂
