Hey Y’all!
This past Saturday night, the hubby and I had a chance to go to a local fundraiser, which featured our dance company (Dance N Style) as one of the sponsors. The dance companies showcased a Dancing with the Celebrities type event to help raise money and support for CASA of Sandusky, Seneca, and Wyandot counties.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. Ohio law requires courts to appoint either a private attorney or a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) for innocent child victims of abuse. CASA exists to serve the most at-risk and severe cases of child abuse/neglect in the community. These children come from extreme circumstances with high needs requiring individualized attention.
We are honored to help with such an important cause to help children in northern Ohio. All children deserve to have a safe, permanent, and supportive environment to thrive in. As Christians we are called to serve and help others. I am grateful to be given an opportunity to help those children in need. There are many opportunities to volunteer with fundraising, donating, or even going through the process to serve as a CASA volunteer. Each county has a website that you can check out to see what ways you can help.
The event featured five local celebrities. Each was partnered with different dance studios to perform a specific dance routine. The performance that won the most money and won the event did a Latin medley. With the dancers alone, over $10,000 was raised which is a blessing to CASA and the children that it serves. It was a fun, entertaining, and memorable night.
