Can y’all believe it is almost 2016? WOW. This year has flown by! I can honestly say that this year has been AMAZING and I am beyond excited to see what 2016 brings for everyone. I have been hard at work with Soul Revival Boutique and I promise to blog more in the next couple of months. So with New Years Eve upon us, I thought I would share some outfit inspiration for all my fashionistas out there!
Whether you are spending NYE at home, at a house party, charity event, or huge countdown celebration I have a few things that I love to incorporate into any NYE occasion.
- SHINE BRIGHT – whether its sequins, glitter, metallics, or studs – New Years is the perfect time to wear that sparkly item that’s been patiently waiting in your closet. If y’all have followed me for a while, then you know my adoration for sequins is out of this world. So whether you want to wear a sequin or glitter dress, romper, leggings, or top – you can incorporate that glitzy item into your outfit of the night!
- BLACK – one of my favorite colors and a staple for every closet. You cannot go wrong with black! From head to toe, or adding a blazer, or leather jacket – black dresses are chic and always in style! You can add some pretty jewels to any black ensemble to add some pop and shimmer as well.
- MAKEUP – so the same rule applies for makeup. Whether you want to don a metallic or glitter eye, smoky eye, or gold hued shade – just remember to either highlight your lip in a more neutral shade or darker shade (think reds or wines) for a dramatic, yet classy look. Remember New Years only comes around once, so have fun! Toss on some falsies and rock that fierce appearance!
- HAIR – so do you want to go for sleek and shiny or voluminous and coifed? Personally, I love switching up my hairstyles. Whether it’s pulled back halfway or a messy up do – it’s all about what makes you feel pretty! And for all my southerners, we know that the higher the hair the closer to God! Lol. I love big hair, extensions, and volume. But I also look straight and sleek with a middle or deep side part.
No matter what you are choosing to do tonight, try to look back and reflect on 2015. We all have experienced ups and downs and January 1st does seem to give us an opportunity to strive for better. I never made resolutions. To me, resolutions are resolving to fix something. I am however, I huge GOAL digger. 2015 for me was about getting over some fears and conquering my dreams. And WOW I am so glad that I did. God has a plan and I will leave y’all with my all time favorite verse, which I think is quite fitting for NYE:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, and to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
I think that is just so awesome. God has got us in the palm of His hand and don’t ever forget it!
Happy New Year’s Y’all!
Happy New Year Brooke! Looking forward to seeing more posts on the blog!
Thank you Andrea! Happy New Year!!
